Week 8 Term 3 2013


This week we

 made:

Potato Gnocchi with Sage Butter Sauce
Herb Scones
Stir-fried vegetables
Tomato and Lentil Dahl
Spinach, Leek and Potato Fritters

It has been a very busy week and so this entry will be shorter than usual. All recipes tasted delicious – we did have a problem with the fritters not holding together very well, but seemed to resolve it by adding some flour. Gnocchi are getting better every day! The scones tasted good and allowed for a lot of student involvement – definitely one to repeat.

The photos below show Litiani making gnocchi – she was close to being independent for the whole recipe!




 
We attached numbered bandettes to our five chickens this week – Shannon did most of the work – a natural animal handler! Now we can identify our chooks easily and record observations about individuals. I am hoping that lots of maths work will follow. We can also name them!
